Just Cause 3 has been more or less announced since the cover of game informer for December was leaked on the Interweb yesterday. The games been in development for a good while since Square Enix purchased the Just Cause 3 and 4 domain about 2 years ago.
But good news, since the leak Avalanche Studios the Swedish based company has come out to say the game is a full retail game and not a free to play game with micro-transactions. Christofer Sundberg, the co-founder of Avalanche Studios said this about the worry.
“Those leaked screenshots were taken from an ancient version of Just Cause 3, …Like most games, this one went through an exploratory phase where we looked at different control schemes, different technologies, different business models. Those leaked screenshots show aspects of that process, and in no way reflect the game we are making today.”
This is good news for people like me that were immensely disappointed to find out Triad Wars was going in that direction instead of make another installment in the Sleeping Dog franchise.
Also a side note, Just Cause 2 is probably one of my few games that I come back to whenever I feel I need to mesas round grappling from car to to car top.
The game should be coming out in 2015 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
